The Georg Michael Holzimport company is a subsidiary of Georg Michael Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Bremen.

It was founded in 1967 as a holding company for companies involved in the import and production of wood products. Its managing director, Mr. Günter Michael is also the companys founder. The company was initially involved in wholesale business activities and supplied companies in the Lower Saxony/Bremen region. Over the years various involvements in other companies came into being - these later became independent entities. The company Georg Michael Holzimport is now exclusively involved in the import and export of wood products.

In 1988 fundamental new organizations were introduced in order to supply large-scale industry more cost efficiently. Prior to this, wood was mainly imported from Scandinavia, Canada, USA, the Philippines and Africa. This trend shifted considerably towards Eastern Europe once the borders with East European countries opened.

In 1988 the decision was taken to deal exclusively with large companies and to do away with the inventories necessary when dealing with trade and craftspersons. This led to a much better cost structure and the savings were passed directly on to the customer.

Not only do we supply the furniture industry but also all companies who use wood and wood boards for packing purposes. Our customers are active in many different industries ranging from the food sector and the automotive industry to chemical and engineering industries.

The considerable experience we have obtained over thirty years is available to our customers. Our young, committed team of employees develop new products which represent significant new developments in the wood and board industry.

With our 5 employees we achieve a turnover of approximately 2.500.000 € per annum.

Georg Michael GmbH has 153.300 € of liability capital and is well known for punctual payment among its suppliers (cash/account).
